On the Frontlines: Escalating Settler Violence in the Nablus Region
While much of the world looks elsewhere, the situation in the West Bank continues to deteriorate—especially in the villages surrounding Nablus. Settler violence has escalated sharply, marked by near-daily raids, destruction of property, physical assaults, and armed provocations—often with the direct support or protection of Israeli military forces.
Our Current Area of Priority (AOP): Qusra, Beita, and Surrounding Villages

PALSHIELD is actively focused on the villages of Qusra, Beita, and neighboring communities. These areas are among the most targeted in the West Bank due to their proximity to rapidly expanding illegal settlements, including Esh Kodesh, Yitzhar, and Migdalim. These settlements have become bases for heavily armed settler militias who act with impunity, frequently accompanied by military forces.
Field Reports and Community Impact
- Qusra: Multiple families have been displaced due to nightly settler incursions. Farmers report being blocked from accessing their land, and children have missed school repeatedly due to safety concerns.
- Beita: Live-fire responses to peaceful resistance efforts remain common. On May 1, 2025, Israeli forces killed 24-year-old Alaa Shawkat Khudair during a raid—another stark reminder of the community’s vulnerability.
- Surrounding Villages: Increased military checkpoints and surveillance suggest an effort to isolate these villages from one another, disrupting social and economic ties.
The Numbers Tell the Story
- 1,860+ settler attacks recorded in the West Bank since October 7, 2023—averaging four incidents per day.
- 411 attacks in the Nablus governorate alone, the highest concentration of violence in the West Bank.
- 870+ Palestinians killed, including 177 children, by Israeli forces and settlers since October 2023.
- Scale of Destruction—including drones, tanks, and airstrikes—are increasingly deployed in the West Bank.
PALSHIELD in Action
- Delivered trauma kits and protective gear to Qusra. Distribution is active and ongoing.
- Progress continues on a secure communications pilot network for early warning and rapid response.
- Conducting real-time assessments in Beita and nearby villages to inform supply routes and infrastructure support.
Our mission is rooted in a simple truth: Palestinian communities have the right to defend their lives, homes, and land. We categorically reject a future in which settler militias roam with impunity while villagers are left exposed.
