The Right to Stay: Defending Gaza’s Freedom

On February 10, 2025, PALSHIELD joined over 100 grassroots and international organizations in signing a joint statement rejecting the forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza. This collective action was a direct response to statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump endorsing the mass removal of Palestinians from their land—an act that recalls the darkest chapters of history and constitutes a clear violation of international law.

Who We Are

PALSHIELD is a grassroots movement born from Palestinian communities across the West Bank. Our work is guided by the daily realities of those facing violence and displacement, but our spirit is equally shaped by the values of freedom, dignity, and justice we recognize from our friends, families, and allies in the United States. We believe that every human being has the right to live freely on their land, raise their families without fear, and build their future with hope.

A Shared Struggle for Freedom

When we hear American leaders speak of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we know these ideals do not belong to any one nation—they are the birthright of all people. Our struggle in Palestine is a reflection of these values. It is the same fight: to resist oppression, to defend our homes, and to secure a future where we live freely and with dignity.

The Right to Stay

For Palestinians in Gaza, the right to stay is fundamental and non-negotiable. Forced displacement is not a humanitarian solution—it is erasure. The people of Gaza have endured siege, bombardment, and unimaginable suffering, yet they remain. This is sumud—steadfastness—the belief that freedom is earned through resilience, struggle, and the refusal to be erased.

Our Commitment

PALSHIELD stands with Gaza because we believe that freedom anywhere strengthens freedom everywhere. We are building networks of solidarity, delivering life-saving supplies, and ensuring that Palestinian communities can withstand these ongoing threats. We do this because we know that no government, no occupying force, can extinguish the will of a people determined to live free.

We will hold the line. We will support those who refuse to be uprooted. We will always stand with those who fight for their right to live with dignity—whether in Palestine or in the United States.
